Curriculum Highlights:

Autumn term is full of fun! At the beginning of the term we settle the children into their new class, helping them to learn the routines and expectations within Reception. We look at the changing seasons and take a trip to the park to look at the signs of autumn. We begin our phonics and maths teaching.  We have an exciting trip to Build-a-Bear Workshop to create a furry friend for our class!

Class Rules and Expectations:

We expect children to begin to take responsibility for their classroom environment and behaviour.  We place a lot of importance on the children knowing how to tidy up and put everything away in the correct places, using the labels and pictures on the boxes.  When sitting on the carpet, we praise good sitting, clever brains, looking eyes, listening ears, empty hands, and hands up to speak.

Once we send reading books and diaries home, children should read to someone at home every night.

  • We ask for £2 per child per half-term to pay for cooking ingredients.
  • We are always grateful for donations of toy cars, play people, cushions and junk modelling boxes (ask your class teacher whether she needs anything.)
